Barreto was born in Staten Island, New York to a Puerto Rican father and an Italian mother. She has one brother and two sisters.

Personal[]

Barretto has been married to former Boy Meets World cast member Rider Strong since 2013. In January 2015, it was reported that Barretto had given birth to their first child, a son named Indigo "Indy" Baretto Strong back in December 2014.

Career[]

Barreto made her film and television debuts in 2000, appearing in the film The Kid and the series V.I.P.. Later that year she had a recurring role in Resurrection Blvd. as Carmen de la Cruz. She appeared in five episodes of the first season. In 2001 she had a role in the film Farewell Colette. In 2002 she had a role in the film Woman on Fire and appeared in the series Crossing Jordan and The Twilight Zone. She also had a recurring role in American Family appearing in five episodes. In 2003 she began a recurring role in The District which lasted into 2004 and encompassed nine episodes. She also appeared in the short film Beautiful and the film Exposed in 2003. In 2004 she appeared in the film Ghost Game, the short La torcedura and the series Cold Case.

In 2005 she appeared in the short Blood Makes Noise and the series CSI: NY and Sex, Love & Secrets. She also starred in the series Pepper Dennis as Blanca Martinez. In 2007 she starred in the horror film Tooth & Nail. 2008 saw roles in Pushing Daisies and CSI. In 2009 she appeared in the films The Outside and Labor Pains and the series Without a Trace, Dark Blue and House.

In 2010 she appeared in the first season of Justified as Pilar, an assassin from Miami sent to kill Raylan Givens. The character appeared in the season's penultimate episode "Fathers and Sons" and the finale "Bulletville". She reprised the role in second season premiere "The Moonshine War" in 2011. Also in 2010 she appeared in Castle and the shorts VideoDome Rent-O-Rama and Career Day.

Since appearing in Justified she has had roles in the series NCIS, the television feature OB/GY Anne and the shorts Dungeon Master and The Method.
